New van (Wed. 22 Mar. 06)
Today, when all of us kids were home, we played Monopoly. None of us had seen Mom, Dad, or Crystal since we'd gotten home and we all wondered where we were. After about 2 hours we figured it out. Yesterday, Mom and Dad had spoken seriously about going to test drive cars without a huge arguement happening. It was just after we'd made this connection that Mom and Dad got home and sure enough they drove home in a new van. It's used but was a rental car in Nevada. It's a 2005 Safari van and it's silver/bonzish. It's so cool. It has A/C, CD player, and new car smell! We first just sat in it to check things out and then Mom took us on a little test drive. We eventually ended up at the church and then Mom let me drive her home. It was strange but of course fun.
The King & I update (Tue. 28 Mar.)
Today when I got home from school there was a message from the choreographer Jessica saying that Janessa could be in The King and I! Yay! Now she's going to see how addictive theatre is and actually have the guts to try out for shows. Happiness!
She came with me to rehersal in the evening and she's Eliza, the lead part of the dance. Jessica seems to think the lead parts suck. It's super fun having her in the show though.

The King & I Callbacks, Tubing, and Janessa Getting Hit with a Shoulder Rest (Sat. 25 Feb)
Today I went to callbacks for The King and I at 4 PM. It was pretty awesome because I didn't have to sing. I went upstairs with a group of girls with the coreographer (sp?) and we learned a dance and then we performed it on the stage. It was super awesome because they told us that we all made it before we left. All that they needed to see was that we could dance together.
At 6:45, Janessa and I went to the church. We waited for everyone to gather and then we left. We drove to Soldier Hollow to go tubing.
Yesterday Janessa was in orchestra and the teacher has no control. These boys throw their shoulder rests and try to make them in the lockers from across the room and the only thing that the teacher told them was that "if you break a shoulder rest, you'll have to pay for it." So this one kid named Jeffrey aimed really badly and hit Janessa in the head and Mom had to pick her up. She got taken to the doctor and got two staples in her head.
So, when we arrived at Soldier Hollow, Janessa didn't really want to go down the hill with me. So we sat in the lodge and talked, played Spitt, did journals, and talked to Sister Bell. I was going to go down with the leaders when Janessa decided to come. We went down the hill twice.
Soon after the rope tow closed and so we got a ride back to the church and back to our house.

The King and I/Bye Bye Birdie Audition (Wed. 22 Feb.)
Today I went to a double-casting audition and CSMT for The King and I and Bye Bye Birdie. The King and I will be at CSMT and Bye Bye Birdie will be a The Art City Playhouse.
It was awesome because I left at 7 PM and was back by 7:20 PM. The only time I spent waiting was while I was filling out my audition sheet.
Everything was the same as my A Christmas Carol audition. I sung the same song (Once Upon a Dream), I forgot to list my dancing experience (and Sharilyn had to ask), only Sharilyn and the accompianist were in the room and the audition was in the green room. That's all the similarities I can remember but that's pretty much everything the same. So hopefully I'll make it in the cast!
Oh yeah, they told me to come back on Saturday at 4 for callbacks. (That's another similarity!)

Cat's Vet Visit (Thur. 16 Feb.)
This morning Sanno's ouwie on his upper-arm-shoulder was almost completely closed off but inside was swollen or full of puss so it was like an egg. So our cats finally got to go to the vet which Brownie has been needing for a very long time. Mom took them while everyone was at school.
Sanno:
The vet thinks his ouwie is a bite, and I think that it probably came from Brownie. His ouwie really was so small when he got it; it wasn't more than a scratch but retarded Sanno can't leave the dang thing alone so it turned into something major that required a doctor. Anyway, he got a shot of antibiotics and he has to take antibiotics three times a day.
Brownie:
He has upper-respritory infection which can't really be cured but it's what is causing him to cough, sneeze and have a super stuffy nose. It also caused him to have a swollen forehead because of his infected nasal passages. It also caused anything else that was wrong with him. He also has tooth/gum problems. Brownie got a shot of something and also has to take antibiotics three times a day.
Even a day after he went to the vet, Brownie was feeling so much better. He's become more rebellious and does more than just sleep all day because he can actually breathe and smell. It's so lovely, it's almost a good thing that Sanno got his ouwie otherwise Brownie would still be suffering.

Grading the Franklin Elm. Science Fair (Thur. 2 Feb.)
Today the AP Biology students took a field trip during the morning to grade the science fair at Franklin Elementary. They gave us lots of yummy treats. It was hard because I didn't really know how to grade so I ended up scoring really high. But we didn't really judge them by that anyway. It'll make the kids feel good when they get their judges cards back anyway... *shrug* It was a very cool experience and I learned lots of interesting tidbits and facts. One partnership did a project where they put mentos in a 2-liter of diet coke and it would explode. She had to take me outside to do it and I was the only judge who got to see it. I didn't know you could make a cool fountain in that way and that mentos and diet coke would be so explosive. The girl got completely soaked but quickly assured me "don't worry, I brought spare clothes." There were also other amazing projects. We got to hand out the awards which was fun.

Clint's stolen bike (3 Jan.)
Today I was playing Mario Party with Clint and Janessa while Crystal was sitting on my parent's bed. She saw through the window a man come onto the front porch and make off with Clint's bike. She told us this and Clint was just going to let it go even though it just barely happened. I made him get up and run with me.
We followed the guy all the was until he turned left at the end of our street where the street ends. Then we couldn't tell which direction that he went. We kept running but we couldn't figure out which way to look. By this time we were about 5 1/2 blocks away and I was to the point where I couldn't breathe anymore. I sat on the nearest lawn on the corner and sent Clint for a bike while I tried not to die.
After 5 or 10 minutes, Janessa showed up on a bike. She let me sit on it for the trip home if I went slow enough that she could walk beside me. I don't think I would have been able to breathe yet if I had to walk so soon.
When we got home, the only thing to do was wait so we played Mario Party until my parents got home.
When they did, my mom called the police. They must've not had much to do because an officer was at our house to make the report in about 15 minutes. Yup, it was pretty exciting. My mom had the serial number so we had good chances.
A couple of days later, my dad thought he saw Clint's bike several blocks away abandoned on a front lawn. My mom went to see and sure enough, it was Clint's. So we got lucky and we got Clint's bike back.
It was probably good that I went after that man but didn't actually catch it. He may have ditched the bike because he saw me chasing him and was scared that I would call the police. If I would have caught up to the man, I would have attempted to get the bike back. What if he punched me, beat me up, or worse kidnapped me or something crazy of that sort? Scary stuff. Obviously the adreniline was pumping. If you know me, would the be any other possible reason that I would run at all, let alone 5 1/2 blocks away from my house?
