I live through this week only because the Juniors were testing all week and I got to sleep in most days. It was lovely but now it's over :(.
School was pretty usual but big event included begining work at Smith's and my birthday.
Working at the Provo Smith's is just weird. I know HOW to do everything, but it's just knowing where everything is that is the trick. The isles are switched around but most of the things that were together/on the same isles in Orem are the same way at Provo. So I can find things, I just have to think about them a little more to decide which way to run. At Orem, the left of the store was all non-foods and the right was all food stuffs. Well, this store mixes it up which is just crazy and annoying. Carts are easier due to their nicer carts, but sometimes they are so new that they just slip apart and make for difficult gathering. I do love working with two family friends of mine, Brandon and Craig. It makes it so much more fun when you have someone you know already to work with. So far I like it but their scheduling is screwed up...I can't work late, get it? Ah, well.
My birthday was fun but pretty boring for someone turning 18. Yay, I'm an adult! Let's party by visiting my grandparents! It sounds lame but I enjoy doing that so it's all good. Yup, that's pretty much all I did. I just ate yummies and hung out at my grandparent's house with my family. My parents gave me a $20 gift card to Maceys so I'm excited to check out that store. It's kinda fun for a conservative Mormon community to get a store that's traditional of New York. I also got some wicked sweet cards, some money and a package of Skittles from a friend.

End-of-week Update
This past week was pretty usual except for the fact that I finally got my transfer from Orem Smith's to Provo Smith's worked out. It was my last week at Orem *buh* but I'm excited to start at Provo. I hope they don't treat me too much like a newbee and they're nice. I have noticed that when I first started at Orem I did something nasty like garbages or bathrooms every night but after a bit I only had to do the bathrooms about once a week and I haven't done garbages for who knows how long.
I just got my schedule for next week though and they have me working past 10 PM. I'm annoyed about that! Tues. I work until 10:15 (that's not that bad), Thurs. until 11 PM (that's pushing it) and then Saturday until 1 AM (that's too late but at least it's not a school night).
Gah, next week is going to suck. My school work is going to be heavy and with that I'm going to have high stress especially because I'm switching jobs.
What crazy weather though! It was 90 only a few days ago and now it's freezing! It snowed today! It feels like Halloween is coming right up but it's still a month and a half away. And it doesn't feel like my birthday is really Wednesday because usually it's a lot warmer. It's cool but depressing also.

General Update
Gah! This school is killing me! I've been meaning to update for a long time but haven't quite gotten time enough to really even think about booting up the computer (and not be doing homework).
I'm supposed to write the introduction to my essay for Pride and Prejudice by tomorrow for English. #1: This task is hard enough (especially since I haven't had time to finish the book yet. #2: Quote from Ms. Drummond: "Don't be surprised if I ask you to read your introduction out loud to the class. That put way too much pressure on me...
Anyway, mostly this update is supposed to be about The Music Man. We've now been open for 2 nights.
Three people are doing tech for The Music Man. Genevieve-Stage manager Janessa and I-Her assistants.
Well, for the first two nights our stage manager had a family get-together campout thingy so she was gone. So Gavin added his daughter to our crew (Kyrsten) and we never rehearsed this setup.
By my tone of voice, you can probably tell that what happened was a disaster.
Friday, our first night, we had a set change that we never practiced (even with Genevieve). We basically didn't know how short of a time we had, although it was a set change behind the curtains. We have only the song "Ice Cream" to remove curtains covering the huge set pieces and then get them into a very odd position but center it. Kyrsten thought it was the blue tape so they pushed their piece there (in actuality it was the glow tape). I was left to get the other set piece in by myself. Basically, I opened the curtains when we were only halfway there. Come to find out, Janessa and Kyrsten's side had a HUGE gap where the audience could see directly backstage. I mean, it was like a 3 foot gap. And we had to set for the library with that gap. We would have closed the curtains but Sydnee (light booth person) told us to leave it. I had to set the left side by going all the way around and then crawling on the floor backstage. I know for a fact the audience saw lots of people they weren't supposed to see. Backstage is pretty much black except for when people walk back there. Then the people light up and are clearly seen.
To make matters worse, just tonight Gavin put hooks on the front of the large set pieces to hang cover-up curtains on. Well, these hooks would catch like crazy on the curtains. It was just the next set change when the pieces caught and popped the curtain off a few of it's hooks. The damage was so bad that Gavin had to fix it during intermission. He also took off the hooks (thankfully). Our second act when perfectly. The curtains stay on the top of the set pieces with no hooks what-so-ever. I wish Gavin would have tested this out before hand. He could have saved himself a lot of time drilling the hooks on (and then having to fix the curtain and removing the hooks.)
You have no idea how bad I felt about this night. It made me want to never come back. Poor Gavin worked so hard for all of this (plus playing the lead role!) and then we upstaged a whole scene and broke things. Also, we messed up the first night which is very important for the audience numbers later just because of word-of-mouth.
Thankfully, we proved ourselves for the next night. We proved that we aren't just stupid and we CAN do it without Genevieve. Everything was perfect except Kyrsten didn't close the curtains at one point because she expected a blackout and their wasn't one. She closed them a bit later in the same scene. (They only close there anyway to give tech a chance to prep the two huge pieces.)
After the disasters opening night, there was this huge tension between backstage tech. and Gavin. It's gone now since we did it right the second night. Gavin was in a very good mood after the show (I saw him talking to tons of (pleased?) audience members and gave us an enthusiastic "good job girls!" after the show.
*Sigh* What a hectic opening weekend!
Now I must get onto my Pride and Prejudice essay in which I am procrastinating on...

Spring Break (April 5-9)
Wednesday:
We mostly just drove and then found a hotel in St. George. I started out the day with a sore throat and it just kept getting worse and worse throughout the day. That night was the worst night because it lasted so so long. I kept awaking thinking it was morning and it wasn't even close. Not to mention I had a fever or something because it was HOT. It was so bad that I went out twice and just sat on the hotel balcony.
Thursday:
We drove all the way to Las Vegas and spent all day driving around looking for a hotel. This whole time I was so sick that I just lay in the back of the van and cried. We couldn't find a hotel because there were like 4 conventions in town. Dang, I hate conventions so much!
Near the end of the day, we found a room at La Quinta that was still way expensive, but it was the last room left and at least livable. Las Vegas is such a depressing city.
After we got our stuff in, Mom started searching the phone book for a doctor and even walked over to Wal-Mart (which was just across the parking lot from our hotel) to ask the pharmasist for clinics that were still open. Well, she got two addresses. The first one we went to just closed about 3 minutes earlier and the other we couldn't find or it was closed too or something. It sucked.
But Nessa agreed to push me around in the shopping cart so I would go with them to Wal-Mart. We bought Night Quill and that kept me asleep until one AM at least. After that I awoke every hour.
Friday:
Instead of trying to continue sleeping, I just got up at 6 AM and took a shower. The shower took so much energy I had to rest for quite some time and then I went and got continental breakfast.
After awhile, Mom and I left to try the clinic again. We thought it opened at 8 AM but it actually opened at 9 AM so we waited in the car for them to open. When they opened, we signed in and waited. I waited for an hour which is pretty good considering we had no appointment and that place was packed. I've never seen a waiting room with chairs in rows; only with the seats arranged around the room in a living room type feel. Well, this clinic had them in a line, and the seats were pretty much full.
The doctors and nurses were so weird at this clinic. I think it has a lot to do with it being in Las Vegas. One nurse was totally crazy and hyper, one normal, and the doctor kept recording what he said on a personal tape recorder and then playing it back to himself. The doctor looked at my eyes, throat etc and I got a strep test and then he recommended a chest Xray. WHAT?!??!!! I've never had an Xray before except for at the dentist. I guess it's not that strange for a clinic like this because they have all the fancy machinery right in their clinic. It's not like we would have to walk/drive over to a hospital to get one.
The Xray wasn't bad at all. When the doctor came back with it, he told me I had bronchitis and prescribed a bunch of prescriptions. There were FOUR! I didn't find this out until we picked them up at the phamacy, but that's a ton to fill at once! I feel like I'm a senior citizen!
Anyway, we filled the prescriptions at Smith's and went to JoAnne's and then went back to the hotel. Nessa had packed for me once again (I haven't packed for myself once since the time that I packed at home because of my sickness).
After a bit we left and then found a room at the same hotel in St. George. We didn't want to stay there but there wasn't anything else really and it was pretty cheap. We went to this family fun center and played their arcade games (well, Clint, Nessa and I did). I was already feeling that much better that I walked over there with them. For dinner we went to JBs and it was so funny because Dad took Clint and Crystal home early because they were hyper and left a credit card with us to pay. We it was expired or something so we had to wait while Nessa ran back and got another card and that one almost didn't work! It was really funny though.
Saturday:
When we left our hotel, we passed Brigham Young's Winter Home and there was a sign that the tours were free so we stopped and took a tour. It was really cool but the coolest part was that I found out that they were showing The Joseph Smith movie at the temple visitors center. My parents decided it would be easiest to let me see it here rather than taking me to SLC so I got to see it. it was so amazing. I think it's probably my favorite movie now. Ah, I love it!
On the way home, we stopped at various stores and junk and the squeaky cheese place and Nessa and I got T-shirts. They are so cool. (Tourist shirts for Beaver, UT!) We also stopped at my Gma and Gpa P.'s house to visit.
It was lovely to get home and see my lovely kitties. :)

New van (Wed. 22 Mar. 06)
Today, when all of us kids were home, we played Monopoly. None of us had seen Mom, Dad, or Crystal since we'd gotten home and we all wondered where we were. After about 2 hours we figured it out. Yesterday, Mom and Dad had spoken seriously about going to test drive cars without a huge arguement happening. It was just after we'd made this connection that Mom and Dad got home and sure enough they drove home in a new van. It's used but was a rental car in Nevada. It's a 2005 Safari van and it's silver/bonzish. It's so cool. It has A/C, CD player, and new car smell! We first just sat in it to check things out and then Mom took us on a little test drive. We eventually ended up at the church and then Mom let me drive her home. It was strange but of course fun.
The King & I update (Tue. 28 Mar.)
Today when I got home from school there was a message from the choreographer Jessica saying that Janessa could be in The King and I! Yay! Now she's going to see how addictive theatre is and actually have the guts to try out for shows. Happiness!
She came with me to rehersal in the evening and she's Eliza, the lead part of the dance. Jessica seems to think the lead parts suck. It's super fun having her in the show though.

The King & I Callbacks, Tubing, and Janessa Getting Hit with a Shoulder Rest (Sat. 25 Feb)
Today I went to callbacks for The King and I at 4 PM. It was pretty awesome because I didn't have to sing. I went upstairs with a group of girls with the coreographer (sp?) and we learned a dance and then we performed it on the stage. It was super awesome because they told us that we all made it before we left. All that they needed to see was that we could dance together.
At 6:45, Janessa and I went to the church. We waited for everyone to gather and then we left. We drove to Soldier Hollow to go tubing.
Yesterday Janessa was in orchestra and the teacher has no control. These boys throw their shoulder rests and try to make them in the lockers from across the room and the only thing that the teacher told them was that "if you break a shoulder rest, you'll have to pay for it." So this one kid named Jeffrey aimed really badly and hit Janessa in the head and Mom had to pick her up. She got taken to the doctor and got two staples in her head.
So, when we arrived at Soldier Hollow, Janessa didn't really want to go down the hill with me. So we sat in the lodge and talked, played Spitt, did journals, and talked to Sister Bell. I was going to go down with the leaders when Janessa decided to come. We went down the hill twice.
Soon after the rope tow closed and so we got a ride back to the church and back to our house.
