My Week!

Lesee...

This week I basically did homework and went to rehearsals.  (Our term ended Thursday.)We blocked my part (Lillian) and I got a few more lines because we cut out the part of Walt (? I think it was Walt...) and Joel also gave me the part of Harriet.  I can't find it in the script!  Anyone know who she is?  It's super-awesome that I have all these lines but I'm getting really nervous about them!

A Wonderful Life is going to be so much fun.  Our George is SO awesome! I love his acting style so much.  It's so...genuine, heartfelt and touching.  The first time we ran the opening scene where he's praying (right after we'd blocked it) I almost cried because I felt so much.  Yes, he's awesome.  Another thing I'm really excited for is the bank scene right after the stock market crashes.  It's super-awesome and we haven't even learned the music yet.  (By the way, the music for this show is so awesome!  There's many styles and a lot of it's really cute/fun to sing.  Plus it sounds so cool with all the harmonies and groups (when we get it right).)

I know we still need more men but I think we could also use some women.  Spread the word!  It will help so much!  It's hard with no cast!
On Friday we had no school and I worked from 6 AM-2 PM.  It wasn't as bad as it sounds but I was SO tired.  Guess what exciting and fun thing I did during my shift?!? I cleaned every garbage can, every wet-floor cone and every iron man (the stands of signs).  Keep in mind that nearly every isle end has a garbage can, EVERY isle end has a cone, and there's a bunch of signs throughout the store (although not quite as many).  We have 21 isles and each has 2 ends.  (21+21)2+21.  Something like that.  I can't do math.  I went through a whole spray bottle of cleaner, a ton of paper towels, and it took me nearly three hours.

On Saturday I took the ACT.  (Evil...EVIL!)  I fell pretty good about the two English portions but math and science (of course) weren't so good.  I think I knew about half of the math problems but the science was rough.  Yeah, sure I could reason it all out, but not in 35 minutes!  That's rediculously short!  To get science, I have to think about it for awhile, but I eventually can get it.  A lot of the stuff was chemistry which is one of my worst science subjects...  I finished most of the portions this time though, which was WAY better than last time.  In fact, the only one that I didn't finish was the math portion.  Last time the only thing I finished was the essay.  (This time I didn't take the writing.  Thank goodness!)
If this entry is a little messed, I thank the ACT.  IQ went down, definitely.

Weekly Update

The most exciting thing of this week was that we began rehearsals for A Wonderful Life.  Lillian is a person on a board and she comes in right after Mr. Bailey (George Bailey's dad) dies.  I'm part of the group that votes on the fate of The Building and Loan.  I have three lines:
"Henry, that's premature."
"That's a serious charge!"
and,
"Let him speak!"
I don't really like any of those lines, except the last one.  I actually know how I'm going to say that one and it's the line that comes right before everyone starts singing.  I get to yell: "Let him speak!" and then they'll start some huge vocal debate through music.  Sweetness.

At our second rehearsal (Wednesday), Joel informed me that I have a solo.  I didn't know what he was talking about so he told me to look at my script.  I CAN'T FIND IT!  The part of Lillian only has those three lines
and he didn't tell me about any other parts.  Either he's confused or he didn't inform me.  But I'm scared!

On Thursday Crystal and I drove all the way to Springville to go to rehearsal and it was cancelled!  Sure enough, when I got home there was a message on my machine about it.  So now I must wait until Saturday to find out about this "solo".

Update

I know I missed a week. I considered posting, but I just plain didn't feel like it.

I can't really remember what happened during the school week...but my UEA weekend was amazing!

Right off the bat, I came home from my 4-hour shift and Joel called about A Wonderful Life. Not only am I in it but I have a name!!!! A NAME! I'm Lillian and he says I'm a chorus member or something. Our first rehearsal is Tuesday and I'll find out who my character is. I'm excited to see! My little sister Crystal got the part that Joel wanted her to have and that she auditioned for--Zuzu. She's in the main character's family! And has lines! And a scene with the main character! Is she the one who states the famous line "Everytime a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings?" My friend thinks so and that'd be so awesome.

Wow, babbling but I'm excited! This show will be awesome.

Thursday was Janessa's birthday and I spent the majority of the day planning out her kidnap to The Haunted Forest. I made fifty-trillion phone calls and even a trip to the Butler's house in Orem (they would help kidnap in some way). We decided I would just make it lots simpler and get Janessa in the car, then ask her to put a blindfold on, and then take her where I needed.

Today I also visited the Orem Smith's which was super-awesomely fun. Not only did I get to visit my old co-workers and my old lovely store, but I picked up two pay checks and got them cashed. 'Twas fun.

I also went to Wal-Mart with Sydney Butler. 'Twas fun. I bought an Oreo HandiSnack and this Axe body wash gift-set. It was on clearance or something because it was only $2. It came with two bottles of body wash and a "male" rubber ducky. It's so cute! Instead of being yellow a baby-looking, it's black with horns, sunglasses, and a masculine white-bead necklace. Hopefully when I give it to my dad he'll let me have the ducky. :) (Curses, his birthday isn't until November...)

After the excursion we headed home where I got some food and then just waited out the hours until it was time for my plan to take place. Janessa went with Crystal and Dad to Los Hermanos for lunch and came home with a new unicycle! Janessa should just join the circus and be done with it.

At about 7:45 I got Janessa into the car on the context that we were heading to Wal-Mart. She knew something was up by now, but she had no idea what.

When we got by Provo High, I told her: “Janessa, you’re going to hate me but put this blindfold on”. She thought it was gross and was a bit hesitant but she did it.

It was hilarious because she got so confused!

We stopped by Sydney’s house to “pick up something” but in reality, I picked up Sydney. Janessa was confused by this as we drove on, but soon she knew there was a “presence”. Also, she reached into the backseat and touched Sydney so she knew it was a person. She also connected round-a-bouts with Sydney’s house and was pretty certain Sydney was in the car with us. Sydney was awesome though because not one peep did she make on the whole drive.

When we got to The Haunted Forest, we all got out. She heard 3 doors, not 2 (she knew Clint and me were in the car). We opened the front door and I took pictures as Sydney surprised her and removed her blindfold.

Once we got all ready, we waited for like an hour because Genevieve’s car hadn’t shown up yet. Aubrey got a call from Genevieve and it turned out their car was broken down an exit back. Gene’s dad came and gave them all a ride and they got to The Haunted Forest pretty quickly considering what had happened.

I think we got 15 people to come which was awesome. After the line we were in the forest and it wasn’t AS scary as I thought.

I really hated the haunted castle at the beginning with all the stuff that was being electrocuted. In fact, I just hated all those things that were being electrocuted. I also hated the muddy pathways, the closet, the tunnel that kept getting smaller with all the hanging burlap sacks (that was just gross) and the chain saws. Some of those guys are really good actors and it’s fun to watch them and others, you just feel bad for them. The way they have to act like retards or stay in one position all night is really sad.

I think the scariest part was when this one guy (a really good actor because he seemed just like those crazies that you meet on the street) started talking to us and surprised us oh-so-well.
“You know what the voices in my head are telling me to do right now? Do ya?”
Sydney: “What?”
“Cut you up!!!!!”
He immediately started a chainsaw and started to chase us. It was so awful. Just as we started to run, another monster started a lawn mower and began to chase us also. It was awful!

One time that was just awesome was this:
“You guys aren’t supposed to glow!” (Referring to our glow sticks and glow bracelets and necklaces)
Sydney: “Why not?”
“Because then I can’t scare ya.”
“Do you want a glow?”
“Oh, I got my glow.”
“Where’s your glow?”
Something roars out of the water by the bridge.
“There’s my glow!”
Haha, awesome eh?

Some of the cooler parts included the Jason room. The clown room with the strobe light was cool and that was about the only time they made good use of the strobe. Usually it was just retarded; like that one where you walk through a strobe-lighted hall on a platform with mechanical skeletons moving all around you. There was so much strobe that you couldn’t really even see the “scary”, you were just concentrating on where to look so it wouldn’t hurt your eyes and head so much.

It was a cool experience but I won’t pay to do it again. (It’s expensive!!!)

After we got out of the forest, we all drove to Genevieve’s house for treats. I gave a ride not only to Clint, Sydney and Janessa, but also to Aubrey and her friend Jessica. It was kind of nervousing. And Nessa and Sydney sat in such a way that it put Aubrey and Jessica at opposite end of the car so they were talking louder and kind of across me. It rather sucked.

Genevieve’s house was fun and the treats were yummy.

After a bit, Sydney, Nessa, Clint and myself all went to Sydney’s house. We waited while Sydney asked her mom if she could come over tonight and guess what the answer was!? It was a yes! YAY! Then we hung out for a bit longer and did random stuff. It was hilarious because Craig and Brandon started fighting over an exercise ball. Haha.

Eventually we drove to my house and we basically just got ready for bed, seeing the it was 1 or 2 AM.

On Friday we played some LF but then we went to Maple Lake with my family. Mom, Dad, Clint, Jordan, Crystal, Janessa, Sydney and myself all went. When we got to the lake, we ran into Grandpa and Uncle Mike who were just leaving so all of the girls (except Mom) went home with them in their truck. Mike drove which was sort of terrifying and made be quite car sick because he’s so messed up he doesn’t even have a license because it’s been taken away.

At Grandma’s house we helped her decorate and did random stuff.

Later, after everyone had arrived home, we had a yummy dinner and then hung out some more.

In the late evening we drove home and Janessa, Sydney and myself stayed up really late and got lots of Loving Family played.

On Saturday we got ready and played some Loving Family and then all the girls in my family left for Crystal’s birthday party. On the way we stopped at Honks and bought cups, plates, forks, soda, goody bag candy and surprises, and other last minute party supplies. Pretty fun and spontaneous. (Ha.)
Then we drove to Michael’s and I put together the goody bags and decorated a bit.

Only two of Crystal’s friends showed up: Lacey (because we went a picked her up) and Gaby.

First Jean (the Michael’s person who conducted the party and the craft) helped up paint and decorate cute little boxes. When everyone finished that, then we played pin-the-horn-on-the-unicorn, then Simon Says and then Mother May I. Then Mom came back with the ice cream and we had root beer floats, cake, and ice cream. ‘Twas yummy.

Then some of us cleaned up while the rest played pin-the-horn-on-the-unicorn and then we left. We dropped off the Butler’s and then Gaby at the theatre in Provo and then we went home. Here I got ready and then went to work. I got the 5 PM-1AM shift. It sucked so badly. Not only did everything hurt, but the checkers were rude. There were no “pleases” or “thank-you’s” it was just “SARAH! SARAH! PRICE CHECK!” I think they were all irritable as well about working Saturday night. They really need to schedule more people or people shouldn’t try to make the late Saturday night shopping. It sucks really bad when the lines are 12 feet past the checkout lane and you’re the only bagger.

GAH.

I HATE WORKING SATURDAYS!

After work I took a nice shower and stuffed my face. I love food. Then I watched some TV and went to sleep.
